Houston, May 13. (PTI): Two films by Indian origin film makers have won prestigious awards at the recently held 38th Worldfest Houston International Film Festival in Texas.

While "Dancing in Twilight", produced by Indian-American businessman Rakesh Vij won the 2005 Platinum REMI Award and was chosen as an opening film at the festival, "Vishwatulasi," a debut Tamil film by Houston-based Sumathy Ram, won the 'Gold Special Jury Award' for direction.

Vishwatulasi, starring Malayalam megastar Mammootty and Nandita Das, is an emotional story of a middle-aged couple recollecting their youthful memories in a fictional village of Sundarapuri in South India.

The supporting cast includes Mannivannan, Delhi Ganesh, Manoj K Vijayan, Ilavarasu, Valiyapuri, and Rajesh Vaidya among others.

Dancing in Twilight, shot entirely in Houston, revolves around a middle-aged man who struggles to cope with the untimely, tragic death of his beloved wife.

The surrounding needs and advances of family and friends ultimately catapult him to the most important decision of his life, taking this slice of life drama from the ordinary to the extraordinary.

It stars Kal Penn (of 'Harold and Kumar go to White Castle' fame), Oscar winner Louise Fletcher and Mimi Rogers.
